Casa Santo Domingo is a
true gem of the 17th century’s Spanish colonisation of the
Americas. Located within the historic walled-city of Cartagena
on the Caribbean coast of Colombia, this residence retains all
of its original grandeur with the original wooden
ceiling-beams, stone columns and even the original ornate
bedsteads present. Visitors can’t help but drift away into
dreams of the era of European discovery and proud settlement
in the Americas.
The house, as its name suggests, lies extremely close to the
popular Santo Domingo Plaza where typical Colombian dance
groups, romantic bands and even vibrant festivals take place.
This intimate residence provides 2 beautiful bedrooms complete
with private bathroom and air-conditioning, living room,
dining room, kitchen, a terrace from which guests can enjoy
sweeping views of the ancient city and the Caribbean Sea and
staff’s quarters from where a private cook will tend to
guests’ every culinary desire.
From the nearby dock, guests are welcomed to board a speedboat
and visit the Rosario Islands that are surrounded by
multicoloured coral reefs which are perfect for diving.
