The Rosario Islands
archipelago is made up of 27 Caribbean islands which lie 40
minutes from Cartagena on the coast of Colombia. The locals
describe the area as the sea of seven colours due to the
myriad of multicoloured corals that line the seabed and shine
through the crystalline waters.
The San Pedro de Majagua Island is privately owned by the same
group that owns the Hotel Santa Clara in Cartagena and as such
provides the same superior levels of service. The hotel was
constructed on a rubber-tree covered island with a relaxing,
modern style.
Pure tranquillity is always the theme and the choice of
accommodations lends itself to this philosophy including; 10
beach-front rooms, 3 lagoon-front rooms and 4 suites. The PADI
Dive Centre on the island operates diving lessons for an
additional charge to explore the wildlife of the Caribbean
reef-systems. Fruits of the sea such as fresh lobster, octopus
and molluscs are on the menu and are served under a romantic
canopy of rubber-trees.
